Studies Electrical and Computer Engineering at UMass Lowell

Over the past years, I had the opportunity to work on a variety of electronic projects, many of which were developed as part of my engineering coursework. These projects allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge and gain hands-on experience in problem-solving, circuit and PCB design, and system integration. The following are some of the most recent projects I have been working on.

6WD Intelligent Self-Drive/RC Rover

Jeremias Vigo May 20, 2025

The 6WD Intelligent Self-Guided/RC Rover is an experimental prototype built on a six-wheel drive platform, developed based on concepts from my previous design projects. It implements two important components: the 6-channel USM-16CH ultrasonic module and the DMD14A dual motor driver, both developed as part of my previous design. Its remote control and autonomous functionality makes it suitable for future ground operations such as search and rescue and law enforcement assistance.

Asynchronous 4-Bit Calculator with 7-Segment Displays

Jeremias Vigo May 25, 2025

In this project, we successfully built a simple 4-bit binary calculator that can calculate values up to 18 using the addition method. We were able to complete the project using a single 4-block breadboard provided by the professor. For our design, we used two asynchronous counter blocks made of JK flip-flops and two full adders to sum the output of the counters. In addition, we used four 7-segment displays to display the results of the counters and the final sum.

Code Breaker Circuit Using LM358 Window Comparator

Jeremias Vigo December 23, 2025

This analog “Code Breaker” checks on a combination of two-resistor code using LM358 comparator thresholds and simple diode logic, then drives clear PASS/FAIL LEDs with 2N7000 MOSFETs from a 5 V rail. The code can be easily changed by swapping the code resistors. The design was tested in Multisim, built on a breadboard, and finalized as a PCB in Altium.

Infrared Collision Assist Solar-Powered RC Car

Jeremias Vigo May 21, 2025

This is my first RC car created as part of my intro to engineering course’s final project. The design consists of a Solar-Powered Remote-Controlled Car that uses clean solar energy and comes with a smart Dark Mode Power Switch (IDMPS). Featuring a rechargeable battery and an experimental Infrared Collision Assistance system, this RC car’s main focus is to be eco-friendly and improve safety.
